How Regenexx KNEE Procedures Work

Regenexx uses your body’s own components — either blood or bone marrow — to support tissue repair. All procedures are performed under precise image guidance to target the affected area and avoid surrounding structures.

FDA Disclaimer:

Regenexx procedures comply with FDA regulations for autologous use and minimal manipulation but are not FDA-approved drugs or devices. All procedures are physician-directed and performed under medical supervision.

01

REGENEXX-SD – BONE MARROW CONCENTRATE

Collected from the back of the hip, processed to concentrate healing cells, and re-injected into the knee. Commonly used for arthritis, ligament injuries, and moderate-to-severe cases.

02

REGENEXX-SCP – ADVANCED PLATELET PROCEDURES (PRP)

Drawn from your blood and processed to create high-purity, high-concentration platelet-rich plasma. Often used for early arthritis, overuse injuries, or tendon issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I’m a candidate for Regenexx?

The best way to find out is by completing our brief Candidate Form. Our medical team will review your information and imaging (if available) to determine if one of our procedures may be appropriate for your condition.

We commonly evaluate patients with arthritis, meniscus tears, ACL or MCL injuries, patellar tendinitis, and other orthopedic conditions. However, your eligibility depends on a number of factors, so a personal evaluation is key.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is derived from your blood and is commonly used for milder injuries or early arthritis. Bone marrow concentrate is collected from your hip and may be recommended for more advanced or complex conditions. Your physician will guide you on the best approach based on your needs.

Regenexx uses bone marrow concentrate, which contains a variety of cells — including stem cells — that are naturally present in your body. These cells are not manipulated or expanded in a lab, and the procedure complies with current FDA guidelines.

Most Regenexx procedures are completed in about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment plan. You’ll be able to go home the same day.

Most patients experience minimal downtime. You may feel some soreness in the treated area for a few days, and activity restrictions vary based on the type of procedure. We’ll give you a customized post-care plan.

As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks, including bleeding, soreness, or infection. However, Regenexx procedures are minimally invasive and have a lower risk profile compared to surgical alternatives.
